Mrs. Butler receiving the 2021 Washington School Counselor Association Rising Star Award
Vision
The vision of the Firgrove comprehensive school counseling program is that every student feels included, heard, and valued so that they can focus on becoming lifelong learners and leaders. We envision every student will have the tools they need to thrive in an environment that encourages empathy, resiliency, and academic excellence.
Mission
The mission of Firgrove's comprehensive school counseling program is to provide students with the tools they need to succeed academically and emotionally. Our program uses data-informed practices to help all students reach their full potential.
A Little About Mrs. Butler
I have had the honor of being Firgrove's school counselor since the 2018-2019 school year. Many of you may know me as Ms. Buol, but in 2021, I changed my name after getting married.
As a school counselor, I am here to support Firgrove students, staff, and families within the Firgrove Community. Some of the ways I provide direct support to students include: classroom lessons, small social-emotional groups, and individual meetings and check-ins. Other ways I support students and families include: acting as the 504 case manager, connecting families to outside resources, and much more!
In addition to serving as Firgrove's school counselor, I am the Elementary Vice President on the Washington School Counselor Association (WSCA) Board where I work to advocate for school counselors across the state.
No matter how briefly a student may work with me, I want to make sure they know they are valued.
